Develop early reading skills with this series of decodable readers, linked to Letters and Sounds. Children progress week-by-week through the programme using the books to practise their emerging reading skills. Every story has been written with a strictly controlled text, so that children are only exposed to those letter sounds that they have previously learnt. Tricky words are only included after they have been introduced. Builds confidence in young readers as they master the phonics code. The non-fiction series uses full colour photography throughout. Can also be used alongside other popular schemes as book-banded reading levels are provided. Library includes include 72 different reader titles, 12 at each Phase level.
Reasons to Love:
• Non-fiction book band books with full colour photography to enhance the word reading
• Follows the Letters and Sounds progression, so can be used to support teaching points from phonics lessons, and includes revision books for assessment or consolidation
• The text is clearly written in a box at the bottom of each page making it easy for the child to navigate
• The books use only phonically decodeable words to support blending in context
• Each book has an ‘at a glance’ guide on the front to tell the teacher which phonemes are covered
